Hello all,

I have decided to get a moisture meter for trim and possibly doing a hardwood floor or two. what's the industry standard unit?

Moisture Meters

I use a Wagner 220 for fast readings and use an Mini Ligno DX to cross check my Wagner especially if the subfloor is 3/4" because since the Wagner reads 1" you will get false readings. I also use the hammer probe attachment for the Ligno when doing inspections to read moisture at different levels in subfloor. You should also get a Thermohygrometer to monitor ambient humidity. Hope that helps

Tramex: Professional wood moisture meter. What all other meters are compared to.

Delmhorst: J-2000. Nice accurate meter.

Both are pin type, and the only true method of getting accurate readings. Non-invasive meters are a waste of money.
