Rates In The USA Compared To Canada


I live and work in the Toronto area and am curious what americans charge for installing carpets, vinyl flooring, laminate flooring and ceramic tiles

Just do hardwoods, so for prefinished and engineered I usually get $3 for the install (nail down, floating and glue down more). But then I have other costs I add, like the prep (carpet, existing hardwood removal), shoe mold costs, then there is the waste removeal fee that covers the landfill fee and some fuel. So in the end around $4.25-$5.50 as a ballpark.

Impossible to answer, rates vary from location to location, also depends on type of tile, ceramic, stone, what size, prep work etc, Florida can be as low as 1 to $2 a ft. and by me, L.I. N.Y., $8 a ft. and up.
