Ditra, easy to work with and is waterproof. Most of the tile distributors around here carry it, I have even seen it at HD.

2) Seams (Thin Set & Tape) 3) Thin Set - Tile Heavy, pain to cut, labor intensive, not expensive Schluter - awesome product, easy to cut, less labor intensive, expensive, good to use if there are expansion contraction issues, or excessive water may be an issue Either will work out fine & last a long time |

Re: Putting Tile On Plywood.
I hope you've done some homework prior to this. Are the joists stiff enough for tile? Is the plywood thick enough for tile?
Doesn't matter what you use over the plywood if the joists or the ply flexes the floor will fail.

Re: Putting Tile On Plywood.
thanks guys
Yes the joist are strong enough....2x8 12 o/c and its 5/8 ply t&G. Its in a older log home, and it seems to shift slightly, and the owner wants it done properly as do i.... My thoughts were to use tape joints, thinset, hardi, and then tile...that is what i did on my own place...cost is not the issue..its what would be proper and the right way ....i was just curious if there was another product out there that would also work... Thank again to all J
