Price to install real hardwood flooring and remove carpet

Hello everyone. I am prepared to remove carpet and install real hardwood floors along with some painting. I live in Missouri, but what is the going price per sq ft for installing hardwood floor and removing carpet. The rooms are the living, hallway, master bedroom and an office room. I am going to do it for my parents and wondered what the going rate is so I could give them a good deal. I've layed pergo floors in two rooms and a small hall way and got $1,000 for it.
And if there is any painter out there, what is the going rate per sq ft for painting just the walls? Thanks all, and have a great day. Look forward to hearing from you all with no flames please

I'll bring the drinks...

Who's making the popcorn this time...?

Seriously bro... do a little searching/reading before posting a question like this...

I initially came here last year (from a google search), looking for pricing info on a particular discipline/application which I had never dealt with before (glass blocks, in my case).

Fortunately, I took the time to read numerous threads before posting anything; I quickly realized that it's virtual suicide to just join up and ask "how much do I charge?"

As to your question?...

...the most recent consensus seems to be about tree-fiddy...

Cheers, Ron

Pergo is what the customer wanted. They already bought the material. I did some search on the forums but couldn't find anything. And I have searched for other things and have found what I was looking for, but thanks for being negative and next time when someones says no flames that means no flames, read the whole post before your reply.

What you do not understand is the "Popcorn and Drinks" reference is for the Entertainment that is sure to follow. (at your unfortunate EXPENSE)

You are charging your parents? $2.00 a yd to take up carpet, pad and strip. I think $4.00 per foot to install wood. But, you are charging your parents?

Wow!!!!!

I missed the "Parents" part!!!

You POS!

How many times do you think that your Mother wiped your Ass, Nose and Washed behind your ears??!?

How many times do you think that your Daddy did NOT kick the living Crap out if you when you TRULY deserved it?????

You have NO ONE TO THANK but your Parents for your existance this very day!!

You must still be VERY YOUNG!!

Actually that's exactly what I did for my glass block question...

Wrote out a detailed description of the application and an explanation of how I came to be in the position of begging for information...

...the rube fell for it...

I went around undercutting everyone's prices in the area, hired a bunch of illegal Laotians and Filipino's (we're kinda short on Mexicans up here) and I'm now the king of unlicensed/hack glass block installations in the Edmonton area!!!

Thank you CT, thanks a million...

(Actually...I did the job at the rate that buddy recommended and made out well on it)

As to charging your parents...?

Shame on you...
