What type flooring? ... Good/Better/Best Quality? ... "Trading"??? More details would help get an answer to your question.

EDIT: ...I can't believe I didn't notice it before. Global Flooring huh? I just bet THAT is the best online floor trading site/company...Smells like SPAM, if it's not I apologize, but it has the scent. Site under construction...new company....yep...definately has the scent...**sniff, sniff**

global, you may want to review the ad policy before continuing.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt, I would never buy wood or laminate flooring over the web. I get enough stuff with busted corners, scratched finishes, etc. The local guys can replace same day and, most of the time, same lot#. I couldn't imagine doing this long distance.

Re: Newbie Here, Need Some Help

and your doubts.

this is not an ad.
I started to work here a week ago and my boss wants me to find out if there is anyway to do trading on the internet....
Again, this is not an ad, but if you really care, our address is
***XX
my name is Al.
I can give you a tour.

JP: we do hardwood flooring, Maple, Balsamo, Mahogany, Cherry, Okan, Kempas, Merbau ect. All A grades.

The company has a factory in mainland, China, (near shanghai), and we produce our own hardwood. My boss wants to sell containers on the internet and do retail locally.

Moderator, I'm sorry if this is a violation of forum's policy, prob I should go back to read it carefully.

Best

Al.

Not sure of your physical address, but it is usually a good idea to get one in the country you are planning on distributing in. Then from there get on the web and do home shows especially in the area of your physical residence. For instance, set up an import/distrubution office/warehouse/store in the Seattle area and do the local homeshows (there's lots of them). Seattle is a great test market area and a great spot for imported goods as we have our own shipping yards as well as rail and truck transports. This is a good spot to start in.

As far as web, go for it. Get with web-site consultants and just get one. Start marketing in your local area and then expand to the web. Look at your competition. For instance, do a google for Timbergrass. They started importing through Bainbridge Island WA (Seattle Market), had their stuff milled here and later expanded to include cabinet panels and now all there stuff is milled in China and imported under the name of Teragren. Same great product, many distribution locations, good website, now a great market base. Do the research and compare it to your own company and see where you go.
