lay some 30# paper over the t and g, wire stapled to that, mud...

Hi.
I would not use concrete self leveling on wooden subfloor.
I would take off the existing subfloor level the joints and then install the subfloor back or install new plywood subfloor.

if you are going to float. Use Ardex gs4 .Two part primer. Works great on lightweight and subfloor. Depth of 3". Sounds light weight is a huge issue though.
