Nailer question

The engineer flooring is 3/8" thick but the cleat sizes for the bostitch nailer are for 1/2" and 3/4" size woods, would the 1/2" be sufficient or would I need a new nailer?

Thanks for the help.

Different gun required, shoots a narrow crown staple. Its actually just a narrow crown 18ga stapler with a foot on it. Several companies make em. That being said, I prefer to glue anything under 1/2". There just ain't enough meat on those tongues for my liking.

Well I can't find one locally to rent so I'd like to use the gun I already have, I just didn't know if there was a way to modify it to work. But i'll look for a used gun or ebay or buy a new one if I have to.
