Re: Minimum Labor Charge For Tile

I would have charged a bit more bill. just me i suppose. my base price
for a 30-40 foot splash is 1000$ If it gets really custom like yours looks ill bump it up about 250$. Looks beautiful though i really like the look. ]

Acually, I hate that look.
As far as looks go we as tile guys do what people ask right?
I do tons of tumbled stone splashes and they tend to get boring.
I think last year alone i did more than 25. When an interesting job like
bill posted photos of comes along i jump at the opportunity. Rock on Bill

I agree. That's why most of my countertops and backsplash page shows tumbled marble... at that, it's even all bottocino!! I don't know why, but bottocino tumbled marble seemed to enjoy a good run for a while. I'm ready to do some different things!! I wouldn't mind getting into some Walker Zanger or Ann Sacks kind of things.

Good old Walker Zanger. Where the yuppie can go and spend $5.00 on a 4x4" piece of off colored Florida tile. Gotta love em

I personally think the tumbled stone era is approaching the butcher block stage of it's life. People in 10 years will be saying " oh you had your home redone in the early 2000's."
It will go the way of avocado and harvest gold. Corian and S.S.V.
Everybody has it. Cute for a while but when every kitchen you see that has been redone has virtually the same tile???

Of course I could be totally wrong but thats my theory and I'm sticking with it
