Mesh Backing For Hardwood

Hi all. I'm trying to find a supplier for self adhesive mesh backing to make my own custom hardwood flooring.

If I can't find pre-glued then I will consider gluing myself, but need to find a supplier of the mesh.

Thanks for any help.

Re: Mesh Backing For Hardwood

I need to make hardwood flooring similar to parquet flooring. I want to make 12x12 or 18x18" sections.

I want to hold a lot of little pieces together with a mesh backing like the 1x1 ceramic tiles are held together.

Looking for a supplier of the mesh backing. Google has been no help.

Hope this is clearer.

There is a heavy fabric used to make tambor doors(think of a roll top desk)

I hope I spelled that right.

Check Rockler or Woodcraft. I haven't used it in 25 years. It's intended to have wood slats glued to it-should work fine.

Use 1/4" ply.

I agree if you are doing 'tiles'. If not, glue your pieces together and rip them out.
