Making Sure There Is Proper Planning

We just looked at a job where the homeowner told the remodeler from the beginning that the floor needed to be installed first in the process because the room was not wide enough. Well, the floor was left for last and now the appliances are boxed in. The contractor is not returning his phone calls to finish the tile floor after it became evident he was right all alonng.

Why would someone add the cabinet on the right to that kitchen? what is that walkway...about 22"? and what do you mean by "boxed in?...that the dishwasher can't be removed due to height?

Re: Making Sure There Is Proper Planning

i think the cabinet above the fridge is not level

and the board (sorry, not a cabinet/kitchen guy so excuse lack of proper terminology) is not plumb to the left of the fridge

looks like the last guy did a pretty sh*tty job

can you even open the fridge all the way? or the stove?

The smallest width is less than three feet. The refrigerator and the oven cannot be removed without lifting them over the countertop.

Yes. The sub floor by the fridge is slopped pretty badly.

Whoever designed that kitchen was on some good stuff. I like how the microwave is to the right of the range instead of a micro/range hood combo over the range. Overall, a not so clever use of space.

I will try. i not sure how.

We were asked to estimate tile flooring. I gave him a price I thought was pretty good. He said he had lower ones.

I think you may be a witness to an optical delusion.
Count the cabinets and openings...then count the counter spaces.

It is an over-the-range microwave. Look above the sink and you'll see the short height cabinet, then a regular, then the microwave. I agree that the cabinets on the right shouldn't be there at all.
