So let me get this Right.
Your a "flooring contractor" with no location or identity.
Your going to install a laminate floor below grade.
You haven't had any professional training or certifications.
You haven't even checked the manufacturer installaion guide.
You give contactors a bad name.
Thanks

Basement Flooring - Alternative Materials
Have you considered an alternative to standard flooring for your basement?
Take a look at modular indoor / outdoor flooring tiles.
If leveling, moisture, and drainage is ever an issue, this is the answer.
They come in a variety of materials: Ipe (Brazilian Walnut), Granite, Slate, and Ceramic
They typically come in 12" x 12" and do not require a backer board.

I used carpet in my basement, but I covered the lolly with 1/2" rope. Started at the top with a dab of Liquid Nails and a clamp. Then wrapped the rope really tight around the post, top to bottom. Added a few dabs of LQ nails & clamp each foot or so. Still looks good after 15 years. Nice nautical theme and it doesn't hurt as much when a drunk srtumbles into it.
