Just wondering

My helper and I laid 27 box's of laminate flooring today in 7 hrs. I am 47 and my helper is 56. Was just curious how I am fairing in this younger mans world. Each box holds 24.25 SF of laminate flooring. We had laid it out so we did not need any thresholds in any doors. This ate up time as you have to do the main room, then shoot a mark into the adjoining room so you can guage where to start the new flooring in that room so it comes through the doorway and meets up with the main room. Kind of looks like the floor was laid in the entire basement, then the walls put in if you know what I mean. In todays world am I doing ok, or is this slow?
Just wanted to find out, I hate being beaten by those younger guys

Really depends on layout. I have (with 1 helper) laid 1200+sf in a day, and I have also had 250sf take a day and a half (tile pattern with opposing 45 degree hallways). I'd say with a decent layout you are doing pretty good.

650 sf a day is pretty good in my book! With laminate, I don't think your "age" matters. Patterns, layout, prep, furniture R & R does.

The way I look at flooring is 1 ft laid today is 1 ft I don't have to lay tomorrow. I am not a fan of installing hardwood, among other things, so ANYTHING I do is fine with me.
