Install 24"x24" Outdoor Granite

Is there any special thinset would you use to install Outdoor granite on:

1) Existing concrete steps

2) For a new patio ( dirt/grass under)

Thanks

I've set slate on an outdoor porch/steps using versabond back when I was somebody elses helper. It has stayed there just fine. You might want to step up to a medium set mortar for the granite, unless you think it'll go down easy as it is.

I've used portland & sand for my porch application.

On my under the deck application (dirt & grass), i first mixed portland and sand (very dry ) creating a bed. Then I mix cement & water )very watery) and apply it to the back of the granite. Then I place on top of the bed & level. Seems to be holding fine to this date. .. .
