I royally cheated yesterday

I just royally cheated on a 600 sq. ft. Brazilian Cherry job yesterday. I used my usual sanding schedule and then applied a coat of Basic Coatings color blocking sealer that was about 1 year old (the bottle was opened that long ago). I let it dry for the allotted time and then applied recatylized StreetShoe that was about 8 weeks old. Both coats were fine but....

Next week I'll either be sanding off the stuff and doing it the proper way or just simply applying the final coat of fresh StreetShoe over the mess. It is a great test floor because it is isolated from the rest of the house and quite easy to re-sand if I have too.

How's that for living dangerously

Heck I "test" different methods that go against the accepted norm whenever I get the opportunity...ya never know what you will learn that could be used for a future job, and how else are you supposed to find out?

If everything seems fine let it be. Basic reccomends that the final coat not have been recatylized, so everything sounds good.

But yeah, each floor has potential to be a test floor. Even if you do test panels, you never know what will happen in the big picture. I remember my early attempts doing tint coats. Jesus what a mistake. That was more stupid than dangerous. Sometimes its fun being a tailgate chemist.

Tint coats...yeah I did one one time that was a mess. But I just sanded it off and just stained the floor the old fashioned way. I usually go by the book, but once in a while I enjoy living on the edge.

You have that nightmare where you spilled your beer too? Isn't it a scary!? I can't go back to sleep after I have one.
