HW Red Oak Floor Filler
OK...I'm a trim guy that has laid some HW floor in the past. A friend bought some utility grade 2-1/4 oak to put in an attic playroom That I'm helping him with. Alot of the stuff is crap and will be used for kindling. Some of it is in decent shape but most of it has defects that you would normally leave out of a normal floor install.
My plan is to lay the floor being as selective as possible but there will be alot of defects because of the grade. I'm looking for a GOOD filler to fill voids and get a half decent finish. If I have to trowel the stuff over the whole floor and sand most of it off.....I will. Keep in mind this is not a dining room...this is a friends attic playroom that will get a large area rug. It doesn't need to be perfect, but I need it to look as good as it can, just for my peice of mind. |

Re: HW Red Oak Floor Filler
We've been using the Zar brand wood filler for this recently. It only comes in two colors to match your standard floor types. You have to stain it after to achieve the color you want.
