How Well Do Waxed Floors Hold Up?

I have a h.o. asking about waxed oak floors and how well they would hold up to the abuse of her two children. She also asked; if they were scratched how hard is it to fix? I am a g.c. and not a floor contractor and did not know the answer. I have seen waxed floors and love the matte finish but have never had one done myself. School me. Chris

I grew up in an old tall building that had a few such floors. It was a weekly maintenance item. Very maintenance intensive.

You can have the same matt finish by using a polyurethane, and protects the wood better too.
