I am also a proponent of using glue for boards in "wet areas" and other areas if the manufacturer allows. My theory is that it will slow or stop water from penetrating the seams - giving you extra time to get it up b4 the water gets under the floor and starts to swell.

I just saw a floor I put in that had a puddle of water on it that was about 50FTSQ over an are that was glued. THe water leaked in through a roof leak and sat for about 4 hours. Only one spot swelled a little and will probably sit back down. Pretty good for laminate.

Also I would put the floor you like for the bathroom. You are not going to save that much on 50-70 FTSQ to make it a big $ difference - buy what you like and be careful...
