HELP - Transition At Angle Between Floor And Carpet

I am installing Jatoba (BC). Most of the transitions I have so far are at cross angle (0deg or 90deg), where I was able to use the Tongue or grove on once side to match the perpendicular side. In this problem transition, where it would be at 60 deg to wood floor. The wood would be having the tongue side facing the transition. To match the wood to the transition I need to cut the wood at 60 deg, thus loosing the tongue. I don't know how to mate the T&G together. Please help

Re: HELP - Transition At Angle Between Floor And Carpet

I'm assuming this is a 3/4" t&g hardwood?

If so, use a router (or table saw with jig) to put the tongue back on the cut ends.

Another option (possibly easier) is to cut a groove into the cut ends (again with router or table saw) and use a spline and glue to tie the transition strip into the field.

Is this pre-finished or sand & finish in place?
