Question Hardwood over Gypcrete

We are working on a home that has gypcrete installed this winter. The homeowner would like real hardwood, preferebly american cherry, installed without building up the floor due to radiant heat installed in the gypcrete. We are sealing the gypcrete this week and would like to know our options for gluing down or installing real hardwood floors.

Real, meaning 3/4" American Cherry or other Dark color hardwood. Initially she was under the impression that only engineered could be glued down and now is under another impression that 3/4" hardwood can also. I do not think she cares technically but desires the feel of her old Oak flooring.

No pre-finished please.

I am guessing that she does not like pre-finished woods. There is a new engineered floor that would be best (due to the radiant system) and can give you the same look as a 3/4" solid. Check out: woodfloorsonline.com/products/woodfloor_unfeng.html to see a picture. There are a few companies making this now, and it is a bit pricey, but it is the best solution for the conditions, and the customers prefered end result. I think the installation can be glued or nailed as well.

The best engineered wood in the world IMHO.
Can be used over radient heat. Keep the humidity around 40% or more if you can.
Do not glue down 3/4 solid hardwood. PROBLEMS!
