Hardwood To Berber Transition?

hey guys my first post and it regards, what is the best trim piece to use to transition from 3/4 hardwood to berber carpet? I've seen reducer and threshold that seem to be the ticket but which is best? the floor only has a tongue on one of three sides.any suggestions are much appreciated considering the cost of prefinished trim pieces. by the way i just installed this floor so there was nothing to reference.Doug

End cap or baby threshold works fine.
some installers will cut the wood flush, and then turn and tuck the carpet to the wood without a molding.

We usually miter down a board so it will reduce down to about 3/8" and then the carpet can be tucked tight against it.

Re: Hardwood To Berber Transition?

depends on thickness of pad & berber .. we just cut the tongue off , put tackless in front of the wood , and treat it like a wall .. we use a 100 oz berbermate pad .. 1/4 inch thick .. and power streach it .. rebond pads tend to break down under berber ,and dont hold the streach has well .. Good Luck ..
