Grout Color Change

well........ it was first a dark shade of grey then the client paints it with paint latex light grey. and now she should like me to change the color to even lighter grey.. i'm thinking digging about half way down in the grout line and filling it with the light grey she wants. any opinions????

Re: Grout Color Change

Your choice is the same as mine. Dig it all out, and start over, with a grout she picks and buys. That way you don't eat it when she changes her mind again, and you eat the cost and labor to put out the fire.

Re: Grout Color Change

a grout colorant would be a whole lot easier
but I don't know about the paint that's already over the grout.

you may have to scrape it out and regrout

the good thing about colorant is it seals the grout while it changes its color
and you can do a small area to see if customer likes color, rather than grouting the whole job and then the homeowner coming behind you painting over what you did.
