Good Hardwood Floor Nailer?

I may be looking at doing some hardwood 3/4 or at least 3/8 flooring.
I was looking at prices...wow...like $350 for the standard type(bang it in with the hammer type) nailer. Is that the standard price for a decent nailer? Seems like I could get a pneumatic nailer to hook up to my compressor for that price? Yeah I have to control the pressure...but..wow that seems like alot of $$.????

You can get an air nailer for that price, but you still have to hit the air nailer with a mallet, just not as hard. Check toolfetch.com or toolking.com---both have decent prices and shipping is free or reasonable

Home Depot rents Bostich MIIIs for around $40 a day. If you are only doing one job just rent it.

I know this isn't what the thread is about but please use 3/4" wood. 3/8 is cheaper but wont get close to the same life of a 3/4" floor. Plus it wont be as sturdy as 3/4 especially after a re-sand. And you have to get a different gun to install it or at least use the riser plates. We must all join forces and boycott 3'8" hardwood! I have had fixed or ripped out way to many 3/8" floors.

I own Bostich and Powernail. I really like the powernail over Bostich. Both cost about the same.

Powernail manuals are about $250. The pneumatics are twice that. Both last a long time. Bostich don't seem to last as long.
