Expansion
Ok--- from cutting old wood floors Thread. The Crain Toe Kick Saw works like a charm . It cuts flush with baseboard no mess no fuss. Ready to put down sub floor, 3/4 tounge and groove ply wood. Should I leave a 1/8"
gap between sheets? What distance away from base board should I leave for expansion? Finish floor will be 3/4 tounge and groove 1x6 pine. what about expansion space from baaseboard? Should I fill this expansion space with caulk or foam? Thanks Lizzydog |

Re: Expansion
I typically leave about 3/16"...the Crain no. 562 red U-shaped spacers are good to use, like this.
http://www.craintools.com/fs-laminatetools.html I know I sound like a walking billboard for Crain tools but...they work well for me.
