Engineered Hardwood

I have Australian Cypress engineered flooring that I plan to use in a hall bathroom. The subfloor is plywood and flat and in great shape. However, do I apply paper over the subfloor then nail the cypres down OR do I use a glue adhesive to lie the cypress down. Because it is engineered I am confused with how to install it???

Any help would be appreciated...thz wildeman

Re: Engineered Hardwood

Yes they do usually put down this special paper first. No you don't nail it. Do you glue that depends some engineer floors you do others you don't. Make sure you live the expansion joint around the floor. It sounds to me like you don't have the instruction. Somebody else will be by with more experience. But i believe i'm correct with everything stated above.

Re: Engineered Hardwood

I just moved and in my other home I had a flooring company lay down the cypress for me, then they left me all extra pieces. Enough to do a guest bathroom...Iam pretty handy and I think I can tackle this myself. BUt I surely only want to do it once

Re: Engineered Hardwood

I made a mistake with my previous post. I assumed you were talking about a Laminate wood floor. If your going to glue use a urethane based adhesive. Nailing is pretty straight forward. It must be said you should follow manufacturers instruction which you don't have. Finally i think the reason the guys aren't answering is because your a do it yourselfer.
