Easy Mat

Antone use this product before?

http://www.custombuildingproducts.co...s/easymat.aspx

I have a client that wants to tile a laundry room. Very simple project 6'x7' on main level, 3/4" t&g plywood subfloor and 12" tile. Problem is the hallway has Pergo flooring with threshold. The HO does not want the tile too far above the existing threshold for fear she will stub her toes constantly.

This rules out 1/2" backer and she is leaning away from even 1/4". She was shown the easy mat by a HD infomercial and wants to use it. Costly stuff at $60 per roll.

My questions:

1) Is it worth a damn?
2) Can I get away without anything below the tile (6' span on 2x10 so very little deflection)
3) Is there another very thin alternative?

I am open to all suggestions and thanks!

I saw the easy mat at HD. I would like to see if they have any accredited tests for that product. I am with the prior post - use Ditra - at only 1/8" thick it should keep the level down and I know they have the test results to back up their product.

The Easy Mat - it just seems too damn easy!!
