Question

Dust Control Options?

The process of sawing laminate and hardwood planks is a dusty mother at best. I would like to purchase a vaccum to attach to my chop saw and I hope to get advice from the group here.
I saw a classified ad today for a "Fein Turbo II Vacuum. Like New: $200" and will be calling on it in the morning. Does anyone have experience with this tool? Is there another brand out there with a panel mounted outlet like this?
Thanks in advance for the insight.

Nearly all of the chop saws on the market are very poor at best, when it comes to dust control. The vacuum matters not, its the design of the saw itself that fails. If you are really looking for a great saw and dust control setup look no further than the Festool Kapex/Dust extractor combo.....but get out your wallet, it don't come cheap. On the flip side, it will do everything its advertised to.

Yup Kapex and CT dust extractor. the two together will run you from 2K on up. They have blades for each type of flooring, wood vs laminate/engineered(prefinished). But you can cut flooring and the HO can cook breakfast and they wont even notice the dust.

I hadn't considered that

I will spend the $200 now, with a plan to obtain the festo vac as finances permit. I do not plan to work with tools that are 'good enough' forever. I appreciate the educated advice, PrecisionFloors and WarnerConstInc.
