Dealing With Underwriters
I have a job coming up that the HO has a HO's loan for and the underwriters are going to be contacting me on payment .... How should I request payment from them 100% materials and 50% labor up front ... Let my know what you guys think ... this is a large job 20k and I don't want to get screwed obviously?

Re: Dealing With Underwriters
Underwriters?
Can you describe it more? Is this an insurance job? Where are you? In CA we can't ask for more then $1000 as a downpayment. No matter the size of the job. I also mentioned it here before though few seemed interested then but there is an escrow service where a third party holds the money so you know it's there. It costs 2% I think. I'd do it for clients who were far away that you might have a hard time collecting from.
