Cutting Porcelain Tile
What do you recommend I cut my porcelain tiles with? I own a RotoZip and just saw on their site with the appropriate attachment I can use it to make cuts? Has anyone cut tile with a RotoZip? The area I'm tiling is small, only 70sqft. If not the RotoZip can I accomplish cuts without a wet saw?

Re: Cutting Porcelain Tile
a decent score and snap cutter will work fine. You can use a 4" angle grinder with a diamond blade for compound cuts. Hopefully you can hide the cut edges. A wet saw leaves a nicer edge.

Re: Cutting Porcelain Tile
I have one. It works fine but if you're planning on using it as a wet saw, be warned: IT'S MESSY. You would need to cut your tiles outside. I only use it for plunge cuts or any "U" cuts.

Re: Cutting Porcelain Tile
Yes, but I personally wouldn't use it as a replacement for a wet saw. I've never been that great making straight cuts with a circular saw and I'd be worried about it cutting all the way across 18" tiles straight.
Sounds like you're looking for the cheapest way out. Why not just rent an MK from HD? Like $50 per day. With 70 sq ft, you should be done cutting in a few hours. |
