Chip In Laminate Flooring.

A contractor dropped his drill on a newly installed floating laminate floor and left a 1/4" gouge in it. Does anyone have a professional method for repairing this kind of damage WITHOUT having to tear the boards out?

Most flooring guys should be able to replace the panel. It's not a very big deal.

Re-read, there is a 1/4" gouge! You intend PAINT as a fix?

Re: Chip In Laminate Flooring.

A drop would indicate depth to me as opposed to a scrape, replace the panel. Sometimes, you just have to bite the bullet.

Just replace the laminate tile! Thats an easy fix......next time lay down 1/8" masonite on finished flooring so that doesnt happen again.

Re: Chip In Laminate Flooring.

There are meltable filler kits out there that will fill in/cover up a gouge....if you want to "fix" it a plank replacement is the best way. Find a floor guy who specializes in laminates/hardwood, figure on $150 and about an hour of time.
