Carpet Over Concrete

What kind of underlayment would be used under a carpet in a finished basement with a concrete floor? The basement has climate controll (Heat and air) I was thinking 30lb felt and tape the seams with Tyvek tape.

Re: Carpet Over Concrete

The HO does not want any type of wood or wood simulated product. They said they have a whole house full of hardwood and want a break from it

The dry-cor IS a subfloor for carpet to be laid over.

Re: Carpet Over Concrete

thats ok usp45, what makes it nice is you can use regular padding under the carpet instead of a direct glue down.

Re: Carpet Over Concrete

Sounds good, will be softer than direct glue down too.
