Buffers For Hardwood
I need to know what type of buffer would be the best for me to invest in for hardwood floor sanding and buffer in between coats of the sealer. is the square orbital buffer better?

Re: Buffers For Hardwood
First of all, I do not recommend a buffer for the main sanding of woodfloors. A upright belt or drum sander would be your best investment in the long run. After running one a few times, you will get the hang of it. As far as a buffer goes, a square buff "orbital" is not for me! This type of sander is a vibrating machine and if planning on staining the floor, you will see alot of squiggly marks. As a Pro Re-finisher, I would purchase a rotating buffer "Disc Sander" size that your local rental company or super store stocks the replacement size paper or screens. Most standard size is 17" & 20". The RPM should be 175, anything faster would be used for polishing.
Hope this helped, Ron T |
