Brief (but incredibly appreciated) Information

I am doing research as part of my undergraduate senior thesis, and if you could answer the following questions it would help me immensely.

What percentage of homes you do flooring work for are pre-existing and what percentage are new?

What percentage of people ask you about heated flooring?

Of those who ask, what percentage end up buying heated flooring?

Do you install heated floors?

If so...
What heating method do you use?
What is the cost of an average install? Do you charge by square foot or by room?

Thank you SO MUCH for your time.

This must be a very boring senior thesis, it actually sounds more like a marketing research project. What class or major, would you be doing this thesis for?

I talked to people about heated flooring twice.

One liked it, the other was selling it.

The only people that I have ever seen install underfloor radiant heating are people in $500,000 homes or higher....Most of the people that I do work for don't care about that, they are more interested in fixing their 1992 Ford F150 or replacing their swollen laminated floors with something a bit more durable....

I think what you are after in this case is a demographic, underfloor heating systems cost a lot of money, and your average American can't afford to install it....Not to mention, a small poll such as this surely isn't a very good way to gain statistics...I would think a much wider scale would be necessary, and asking contractors to guess or speculate or estimate isn't a very controlled situation. How could you know that any one of them would be honest?
