Backer Board
Thoughts Please
Thickness of backer board (Hardi) on floors and walls. I've always used 1/4 on the floor and 1/2 on the wall as instructed by the tile source. But what's keeps the 1/4 on the walls from being sufficient? |

Re: Backer Board
Thanks for the info. Guys. I had a hankering that was the issue.
Bud- Yes, I'm a tile guy. I just haven't been doing it as long as you have and I'm obviously not as educated in the field. That's why myself or any of us ask questions.. Yes, you are a tile guy as well and apparently an A**! But most of the threads you reply to that I've read say that already. Maybe you should get that tatooed across your forehead so everyone will know or at least change your posting name to reflect it. Thanks again. |

Re: Backer Board
Thunder a surprisingly abundant number of people come here to ask questions and they lie and say they are contractors when in fact they are not. They think they will get special privilege if they can convince us they are in the trades.
Your question appeared to me that you were one of those people. Sorry if I jumped to conclusions. Your question was sophomoric. Anyone selling themselves as a pro tile installer would already have the right answer to the question you asked. You may not like my approach but the truth is I save myself and others here a lot of time on a regular basis weeding out the liars immediately. When a self-proclaimed contractor can't answer a very basic question one tends to be a little suspicious. Call me whatever you want, doesn't bother me. ![]() Good Day. |
