3/8 vs. 3/4 Hardwood

I was told the only practical difrence between 3/8 and 3/4 cherry floor (beside the cost) is the number of time you can refinish it. True?

Wood differences

3/8" vs 3/4" cherry hardwood flooring.............
3/8" must be engineered flooring?
3/4 " solid hardwood?
Big differences
Wouldn't put solid in basement or over radiant heat.
Refinishing would be about equal.

The big difference is the ware layer, from the top of the tongue to the top of the board is the ware layer. This is usually 3/16 to 1/4 on 3/4 solid flooring, on engineered its usually alot less depends on the manufacturer. So the with less thickness for the ware layer the less it can be refinished. justin
