1x12 White Pine Shelving For Flooring?

Anyone had any experience with 1x12 white pine shelving board for a rustic floor in a cabin? Someone told me that it looks pretty good. It would be laid over felt and face nailed w/ countersunk cut nails, then sanded and polyurethaned as any unfinished solid wood floor.
