1/4" Stair Nose

I picked up a few boxes of bruce 1/4"x3" Plank flooring that I was intreasted in laying down on my stairs. Is it a good idea to lay 1X4" down or should i go to a more thicker wood. And where do I find 1/4" stair nose?

Bruce should carry a matching stair nose molding. Personally I would go with a thicker material on steps though...steps take a beating. It may be more cost effective for you to just replace the treads with solid oak one piece treads and finish them to match.

Well if you did it right you could get a thicker nosing and build up the tread with plywood to match the height. I would go solid treads if it were me but if you got the stuff free you may be ok. If it don't last all your out is some labor.
