So I went in to my local tool pusher today to pick up a new brad nailer. As I'm looking around, I pick up the Max 18g brad nailer. Very impressive piece of kit, I think. So I go up to the counter and ask how much....$400:blink:!! For a brad nailer?!?! I thought his computer must be screwed up, but Amazon has it for $484.71:w00t:. I admit I take a few sips of the green Coolaid every now and then, but this is ridiculous! A brad nailer!?! More than $400! Really?

I had a Craftsman that lasted more than a decade. Still works, but fires too many blanks. I can't see spending more than $125-$150 for one. Especially when you can get a pretty decent one for less than $100.

So, anybody here have the Max? Worth the investment?

Has anyone had this gun for a while and what are your reviews after time.

I have used one years ago but they were brand new to the market. I am wanting to get one.

I will not be putting it to daily use. I would say maybe 2-3 boxes of pins a month.

Looking for a saw for trim/light frame.

I've got skill wormdrive, plus a couple of older heavier sidewinders. Main saw now is a Dewalt but base plate has seen better days. I will probably replace the base but for the $$ this Hitachi looks ok.

Any one with hands on experience? What did you think about after a while?

Hoping someone has some experience they can share on refinishing the cast iron tops of some shop equipment. I have a 8" long bed planner & a 3hp shaper, both made by Grizzly. I bought these new a few years ago & never got to set them up, other than to test them & unfortuneatly I had to store them in an out building without any climate control. I thought I had protected the tops with a metal protectant but it didn't work to well & they rusted up! Hopefully the tops can be polished up, maybe sand first than metal polish? Has anyone had any luck doing something like this? Thanks.
