Property Building Home House Real estate

I was born and raised in the Twin Cities, but when I met my wife 11 years ago we relocated to Southern Minnesota where my wife was born. We have been married for7 ½ years, and have three beautiful children. Ava is 6 years old, she is a gymnast and a dancer; she already has the attitude of a teenager. Aidan is 4 years, he is a typical boy, loves the outdoors, playing with trucks and Thomas the Train. Colten is 3 years, he is a mama's boy, and he is his older brothers' twin and shadow; he loves Lightning Mcqueen.

During my senior year of high school I enrolled in the building trade class at a local college, that is where my passion for construction began. From there I started working for a framing company framing houses and I worked there for approximately three years until relocating to Southern Minnesota in 2005. When first in the area I worked for two local contractors and in 2008, I decided to start my own business.

Framing is still my favorite aspect of construction, but the opportunity does not often present itself in my current location. Most projects I currently work on are agricultural. I enjoy taking on pole building projects because it gives me the opportunity to do some framing. Majority of our work is in pole barns and steel roofing. One of my prior employers used to be the local Amwood Homes' dealer and builder and when he retired approximately two years ago I purchased the Amwood Home dealership. Currently I spend majority of my days on the job site, and work on estimates and bills in the evening, I hope within the next couple of years to have more time to advertise and build up the new home construction aspect of my business.

Since living on a farm, my family and I have a variety of animals, majority are cattle. Our children have ponies, and my wife has goats. It was my wife's grandfather that introduced me to cattle and encouraged me to invest in some of my own. We have a cow/calf operation and currently have approximately 21 cows plus their caves. I was injured October 27th of this year while trying to make hay. My hand got caught in the belt of our round baler. As a results my left and dominate hand was cut down to the bone and tendons. I was hospitalized for 12 days, had 3 cleanings, and 2 surgeries. My surgeries included a flap graft from my left forearm and a graft from my left leg. I am currently unable to work and have just started physical therapy. I am hoping by spring to be able to get back to work.

Thank you for the nomination and consideration,
Ryan Donohue
